Dear [recipient name was inserted here],
I am writing in regard to recent news reports that the DoD is considering
overhauling the retirement system and increasing out-of-pocket TRICARE
medical costs in order to cut the federal budget deficit.
Being one of the 'older' old soldiers surviving on a pittance of a
pension and having promise after promise broken by our government, I am
AGAINST the cuts proposed by Senator McCain.
Fuck you all

What makes you mad?

I told a podiatrist office today that I was retired military on Medicare and Tricare for Life...

They refused the insurance, both of them.

What is happening in America?  The insurance of MEDICARE (after 65 years of age) was mandated after the failure of our government to keep their promise to those who served in the military for 20 years or more to provide FREE MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE for the rest of our lives.  Instead, they gave us MEDICARE (which we pay monthly premiums on) and TRICARE FOR LIFE (where the insurance is now up for grabs--again, grabbing at our thin wallets and worn nerves).

I think that any American company or American medical group who refuses to honor the military's meager insurance should be abolished from doing business in America.  The same to those American companies who 'create jobs' by first OUTSOURCING those jobs to foreign countries and still get to claim bonuses for CREATING jobs!!!  Jobs that are lost to Americans (such as HILTON--Blackstone) closing call centers in Hemet, California in 2010 and 'laying off' 350 Americans there, transferring only a handful who could afford to make the move to their call centers in Dallas, Texas and in Tampa, Florida.

These losses (medical insurance for retired military, in effect, at least for me, in Dallas, Texas) and those who could not afford to make the move to keep their jobs.

It's a damnable, criminal, biased and unethical way to treat Americans who do their job!!!!!

Our attitude toward the world is that all its resources are ours despite international boundaries. We proclaim humanitarian policies but in fact are terrorists with superior technology. We do not use our drones and cruise missiles on countries with no resources...but Libya? Hey, that country is loaded with oil. Humanitarian interests? Forget it. So the cycle goes on, the defense contractors make huge profits, the world gets more unstable, the U.S. gets richer. We have our own politicians terrorizing us at home and pricing us out of healthy foods and medicines. Will anyone survive the greed and gluttony? The fascist state does not want democracy in the middle east---if the people ran the countries we could not promote terrorism or sell weapons or invade countries and bomb their innocent civilians. If we truly were a democracy our law would not permit these corporations to contribute a penny to political candidates. The fear factory run by the House Republicans is our fault; our apathy produced this fascism, our activism alone can defeat it---but now we have to pay in blood.

Although the news about Japan's super-earthquake and tsunami are crowding out the other news, let's not forget those who are still vowing to fight Governor Walker in Wisconsin...and the stakes involved there.

Let's also not forget Libya's freedom fighters, who are on the verge of being squashed by Khadafi if the U.S. doesn't show some solid open leadership.  If anyone needs to be bombed, it's a murderous tyrant...so I hope we get out of Afghanistan and forget the hyped up 'terrorists' at large there and concentrate on creating some real Arab allies.  Rescue the heroes of Libyan opposition now.  Obama has yet to show me that he can do anything right.

As goeth Dubya, so goeth Obama...March 8, 2011 he signed an executive order keeping
Guantanamo open forever, supporting perpetual warfare on 'terrorists.'
on dissenters, on whistleblowers,  On 'entitlements.'  On firefighters.  On nurses.  On teacher. On reality.

Never trust a politician to tell the truth.

Who is worse--Qaddafi (or Gaddafy, or Khadafy)? or Obama?

I think we will find out soon enough.

Rush Limbaugh--a real slime-bag.  During the protests in Wisconsin in February 2011, he called the people 'bottomfeeders' and 'freeloaders.'  Look at the clip that is included in Ed Shultz's commentary; it's Rush Limbaugh in all his perverse glory, mouthing ignorant accusations to incite the ignorant in America.

Yes, this icon of America -- privileged upbringing, college dropout, DRAFT DODGER -- certainly can get slobbery when talking about working Americans being shut out of the system...
